We never made it to the emergency vet,our dog passed in transit. However,I am giving the one star due to the overwhelming LACK OF SYMPATHY the lady on the phone had. I’ve got over 20 yrs experience in the emergency room as a nurse. I’ve dealt with traumatic losses and being sympathetic.

We had a completely normal dog and 20 minutes later she was gone. I called trying to get some advice and an address,as we were trying to gather our dog up. She stopped breathing and I asked the lady for directions on dog CPR and there was no response. As I was doing CPR I asked if she was still there,and she said yes. But was so unhelpful. We finally got into the vehicle as agonal respirations had returned,however was still trying chest compression. We never made it to the clinic. Midnight died. I called back and the same lady said we only needed to come for cremation services. She never offered any condolences!!!! She was so cold. I said we had property and would bury her ourselves. She replied there was no need to come then.

I’m just so disappointed with the sheer lack of personality,concern,or sympathy for our experience. Hope they aren’t that way to others.

I was absolutely devastated when our boy took a turn for the worse and needed help crossing over Rainbow Bridge. The staff at the ER Vet could not have been more comforting,caring and compassionate. They allowed us to take our time in the process and I could not have asked for a better team to help us with such a difficult decision. I would recommend them a million times over!

We have had to take our outdoor cat to the clinic twice in the last 6 weeks. We were very nervous our first visit as this was the first time Earl had been to a vet since his original visit to APL. They were very good with him and he was feeling better within 48hours as expected. Our second trip was even better. The vet Earl saw had a great bedside manner. The techs were very good as well. He listened to my concerns and within a couple of hours Earl was more himself than he has been in weeks. Now we just need to figure out a better maintenance plan to avoid these ER visits.
